New Beginnings

 

After much thought, we decided our children needed a new beginning with a new name.  Every time we speak their new names it will be a reminder of our mighty working God.   

 

 

Jenny is now Beth ("house of God").  It seemed so fitting since she comes to us from Bethany  ("house of poverty") orphanage.  We speak promise over her that she will have her life redeemed with the richness of God himself.

 

Jeremy is now Luke ("bringer of Light").  May the Light of the world so fill him that he will draw men to Christ.

 

So now we get to introduce our children all over again.

From Tokyo with Love

For a brief three hours we were in Tokyo airport. The ultramodern, space was full of interesting sights.  The stores were full of luxury items, beauty products, Japanese sweets in amazing boxes, and of course, electronics.

The plastic food displays were gorgeous.  I would happily hang a lit case of plastic food on my walls.  Perhaps it is more practical to open my refrigerator and peer in, but it never looks as tantalizingly delish.

The tempura, noodles and sushi platter all stunningly realistic.

Yes, it is fake, down to the julienned carrots and minced spices.

We're Home

After travelling over 16,000 miles, 40 plus hours and four flights, we made it home with our new son and daughter.

When the bird falls

 

The brevity of life photographed by Jane this weekend.

We found this little bird on our doorstep. His posture is sweetly serene as if he knew he couldn't add a single hour to his life.  His beak and head are bowed in reverence to his Creator.  O, little bird, you are an exquisite reminder that time is on loan and our Father alone knows the final hour.

Technical Glitch

I installed Windows 10 on my computer and have struggled to figure out how to do the most basic computer skills I once knew.  Sorry for the silence.  In the next days pictures will be forthcoming.
