Thistles and Thorns

In our quest for wild berries, we found some plump thistles and maybe six cups of dewberries. It was a dismal return, but we would have dreamed of bucketfuls if we hadn't seen this year's miserable vines for ourselves. At least, there are enough dewberries to top icecream tonight. That makes the trip berry good. (Excuse the pun. I wished to try the editing strike through.)

Beautiful photos....REALLY BEAUTIFUL children and mom!

My mother used to pick thistles and somehow pull the purple off, leaving just a white "powder puff". I used these for my dolls...They were so soft!
