How a Grasshopper Spits Scripture

When Alex caught this grasshopper in his hand, I had to think of the Joel passage and marvel that God, the Commander of the Grasshopper, counts the years of destruction and repays us in goodness.

I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten -
    the great locust and the young locust,
    the other locusts and the locust swarm -
my great army that I sent among you.

 You will have plenty to eat, until you are full,
    and you will praise the name of the Lord your God,
    who has worked wonders for you;
never again will my people be shamed.

Joel 2:25, 26

Also makes me think of Numbers 13:33. Isn't it cool to think that God created all these tiny creatures for His pleasure and ours?

Hi Anna! We used to go and hunt the grasshoppers. We'd yell "Spit, spit, tobacco juice", so I know what your title meant.

Isn't it wonderful that God will come back after our mistakes and love us so fully? Your passage really lifts the spirits, that's for sure!

So nice to meet you!

Great reminder how God redeems everything that has been lost, how he vindicates us..regardless of our circumstances. Glad to have you at UNITE! ~ Jen

Hi again Anna! I just read your comment on my blog re: Housekeeping 101. I loved it! Is it ok if I use it on my homepage? Kind of a 'Comment Highlight' kind of thing.

I would have to know today though. I will be posting something else tomorrow. You can go to my site, and send me an email from the widget on the right side of the blog page. Let me know if it's ok to do, and if you would like me to also include your name and your blog address.

Thanks! So fun to meet you!
