On the Great Wall, there is a tradition that lovers attach locks to the chain and then throw the key over the wall where it will never be recoverable. The girl has supposedly unlocked the man's heart and now it is forever sealed in love. I have heard of bridges in Europe where travelers do likewise. If we were great sentimentalists, I sure we should have attached our padlock for Teddy. He definitely is sealed on our hearts.
